Meet Our President

Norma Miller
RPR, CRR, CRC

Norma was on the first team of live subtitlers at BBC Television Centre in London, and as such was at the forefront of realtime captioning in the UK. She captions events large and small and travels extensively. She is a lifelong Anglophile and is very excited to return to the UK with the expansion of White Coat Captioning, as the demand for highest-quality tech con captioning continues to grow internationally.

Andrew Howell

Andrew was on the original BBC Live Subtitling team in London. He was the on-air stenographer for the launch night of the flagship news show, The Nine O’Clock News. He worked alongside Norma Miller, now CEO of White Coat Captioning.

Andrew holds certifications from both U.S. and British certifying bodies, and passed the 250-words-per-minute speed test from the Incorporated Phonographic Society with distinction.

He is a freelance captioner, providing captions for live television shows, live captions onsite for arts and live performances, and has now partnered with White Coat Captioning in the field of tech conference captioning.

Claire came to our team with 10 years of operations management experience in a broadcast captioning environment in the UK, and over 20 years of admin experience in total. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Claire works alongside the US team to provide scheduling, booking, and admin support.

Brenda combines 30 years’ experience in the classroom and an MS in Education with a BS in Business and nearly a decade helping small businesses run more smoothly. As Norma’s assistant, she takes pride in helping each client to set up the best WCC solution for their particular needs. And she’ll work hard to make the process easy!
